Pet Memorial Name Card
When your pet's name is placed on the Vanillery Garden altar, we write two name cards side by side — one that stays with us through the sanctuary's ongoing rhythm of chants, blessings, and quiet ceremony, and one that's yours to keep.
This is that second card: a personalized pet memorial name card, written by hand at the same time as the one honored on our altar. It carries the same name, the same care, the same moment — so you have something physical to hold, even while the tradition of the altar continues on its own path.
At the end of the altar's cycle, the original card is taken to Daijiji Zen Temple to be released in ceremony. Your card at home isn't part of that ending — it stays with you, for as long as you want to keep it.
What's included:
- A personalized memorial name card with your pet's name
- Made of paper, in keeping with the same simplicity as the altar tradition itself
- Written by hand alongside the matching card held on the sanctuary altar
- A keepsake you can place on your own altar, shelf, or anywhere quiet and personal
How it works: This offering is donation-based. There is no set price for the card itself — you're only asked to cover shipping, calculated at checkout. If you'd like to support the sanctuary further, a donation is always welcome, but never required.
A note on grief: There's no timeline for missing someone, animal or human. This card isn't about closure — it's a small, steady way of keeping your pet's name spoken, seen, and held, in your own home and in ours.
